That Time We all Interviewed Lucero

Lucero

Lucero

Remember that time last week when I got all excited hoping that somebody would ask Lucero about their cover of Jawbreaker’s “Kiss The Bottle” during the Twitter Q&A we hosted with the band? I’m a bit disappointed to say that nobody stepped up and asked, but we did learn about how much whiskey the band drinks, mowing lawns, and gig posters. And in the event that somebody is curious about the Jawbreaker cover or something else Lucero related, the band are currently on a long tour.

Fan @AlbertRuncorn asks: If there was a Lucero drink, what would be in it?

BV thinks it would be Jameson or a Dark & Stormy, RB said it would be Red Bull, Pepsi, Jameson and Budweiser .

@HoldFastfingers: Have you considered another DVD since Rick, Todd & the boys are around?

Haven’t really talked much about it. At some point we would like to release a live show DVD/Album.

Fan Dylan Cobra wants to know: Why don’t you ever play “Noon As Dark As Midnight” live?

‘Cause no one makes set lists. On rare occasions we’ll play it.

Lindsey McDonald asks: If you were only able to play one song at a concert what would it be?

Lindsay – Roy says “Darken My Door” and John C says “What Else Would You Have Me Be”

Fan Kelly Bukrim asks: If you could put together your “dream tour” who would you be touring with?

Kelly – John C: The tour we are on now. Roy: Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty.

@PeetCook wants to know: Will you putting the new gig poster up for sale?

Yes, maybe, probably.

@stpiker asks W&W is fantastic & love your musical evolution, but many old fans want TN again. Does this concern you/will you go back?

Roy: It’s hard to compete with your own catalog, we do what feels natural. John C: That was then and this is now. We live our albums every night. We’ve already made TN, we don’t need to again

@abbotstreet: How much whiskey do you have to drink to get your voice ready for recording?

Ben: I just wanna drink as much whiskey as Tears for Fears. John C: None. Brian V: 6 bottles (just kidding)

Last question from Craig Radechel: Do you guys mow your own yards?

When we are on tour, someone else does it for us. When we are home we usually mow our own yards

Hey guys, why can't you purchase "Women And Work" from the UK iTunes yet? Can you please do a UK tour again, and come to Scotland! I was too young to see you guys last time!

Weekend Discussion: Do You Care What Artists Believe?

By J. Edward Keyes, Editor-in-Chief

A few weeks ago, I sat down with Laura Stevenson to talk about her brash, Crazy Horse-inspired new record Wheel. We talked about a lot of things: her strained relationship with her mom, her battles with depression as an adolescent and her teenage love of ska. But one stray comment has generated more chatter than anything else in the entire, several-thousand word interview: the fact that Stevenson suspects the footage of the moon landing was… more »
