Help Send the Yellow Dogs on Tour!

A few weeks ago, we introduced you to our latest eMusic Selects band, The Yellow Dogs, who promptly took up residence near the top of our charts. I’m sure by now you’re familiar with their story, but if you’re not, I’d strongly suggest you take a few minutes to familiarize yourself. Now, what you may not know is that The Yellow Dogs were our 25th eMusic Selects release (!), and while we’re unreservedly thrilled with where the program has been, we decided now was the perfect time to kick things up a notch.

Starting with this round of eMusic Selects, we’re partnering with RocketHub, to give our Selects bands even more love and — more importantly — financial support. If you head over to RocketHub, you’ll find a page where Yellow Dogs are raising money for their upcoming U.S. tour. When you pledge, every penny you contribute will go to the band. What’s more, eMusic will match the first $1,500 in donations, dollar-for-dollar. Yellow Dogs have come up with some great, unique prizes for each donation tier as their way of saying thank you for your continued support. As part of the tour, the band will be playing in Turkey, a show that their family and friends will be attending. It will be the first time the band has seen their family since leaving Iran two years ago.

Head over to their page on RocketHub right now, and bring the band to a town near you!

Weekend Discussion: Do You Care What Artists Believe?

By J. Edward Keyes, Editor-in-Chief

A few weeks ago, I sat down with Laura Stevenson to talk about her brash, Crazy Horse-inspired new record Wheel. We talked about a lot of things: her strained relationship with her mom, her battles with depression as an adolescent and her teenage love of ska. But one stray comment has generated more chatter than anything else in the entire, several-thousand word interview: the fact that Stevenson suspects the footage of the moon landing was… more »
