The Moment You Realize What Hole Would Sound Like as a 1980s Hardcore Band
There are two kinds of people on this planet: Those who think the video for Nü Sensae’s “Swim” does everything right, and those who cover their ears and go running for the hills. For those in the latter camp, I’d suggest you stop reading now, because I’m about to gush all over the song.
The Canadian (Vancouver, to be exact) band’s upcoming Suicide Squeeze release (out August 7th), Sundowning, sounds a lot like what would happen if Courtney Love would have started her career in the mid-1980s by fronting a band who had all their artwork done by Pushead. It’s a whole lot of screaming piled on top of a whole but of buzzsaw guitars and pounding drums. And to a certain small percentage of the plantet’s population (myself included), it sounds completely glorious.
