eMUSIC DECLARES VICTORY:
LEGENDARY INDIE ROCK LABEL JOINS ROSTER OF 8500+
Aiden Six-track EP Available Exclusively on eMusic October 31- November 13, 2006
NEW YORK, October 27, 2006 – eMusic, the world’s largest retailer of independent music and the world’s second-largest digital
music service after iTunes, today announced that the number one independent rock label in America, Chicago-and London-based
Victory Records, will join its thriving collection of independent labels. Victory’s catalogue, which includes immensely
popular rock stalwarts Hawthorne Heights and Atreyu, and imminent breakthrough artists such as Silverstein and Aiden, will be
available starting October 31 at www.emusic.com.
“We’re proud to welcome Victory Records to eMusic,” said eMusic President and CEO David Pakman. “Tony Brummel’s A&R genius
has the music industry scrambling to copy his success and we share his passion for independent music. Victory’s reputation for
using the internet to build their artists’ fan bases is renowned and we’ll work with them to increase sales to that
audience.”
“eMusic has evolved and metamorphosed over the years. Under its new leadership and with all of eMusic’s recent success in selling
independent music, we felt it was the right time to begin working together. Independents must stand together,” said Victory
founder Tony Brummel.
eMusic is responsible for a significant portion of independent artists’ digital sales and has sold more than 85 million tracks in
the last three years.
eMusic will feature five new Victory releases that tie in with their October 31 “Tuesday of Terror” release date promotion,
including an upcoming six-track EP from Aiden, Seattle's favorite band of five. The EP, entitled "Rain in Hell”, will be
available exclusively on eMusic until November 13, 2006. The Seattle-based horror-rockers just returned from a sold-out tour of
England, where they also won Kerrang! magazine’s Best International Newcomers Award over Panic! At The Disco and Wolfmother.
Other Victory “Tuesday of Terror” releases include "Let Your Body Take Over," from Minneapolis pop-punk misfits Four Letter Lie;
"Homeland Insecurity," bone-crunching, melodic hardcore from Queens, NY's finest, Endwell; "I Saw The Devil Last Night And The
Sun Shines Bright,” quirky, indie rock from Atlanta, Georgia’s Moros Eros; and "The Failure In Drowning," from soCal hardcore
rockers, Scars Of Tomorrow.
With more than 300 releases, Victory Records has been the leading force in independent rock music for well over the past decade.
Rarely, if ever, do independent labels sell six figures of a new release out of the box, Victory has done it twice with Taking
Back Sunday and Hawthorne Heights. Victory is also the only pure independent label to have had two, back-to-back top-10 albums on
the Billboard Top 200 in 2006. The label has been home to the birth and breakthrough of such classic hardcore bands as Earth
Crisis, Snapcase, Strife and Hatebreed, amongst others. Today, Victory’s roster has grown to represent all of rock’s varied and
eclectic sub-genres as reflected by artists as diverse as Voodoo Glow Skulls, Spitalfield, Bury Your Dead, The Sleeping, Between
The Buried And Me, Darkest Hour, Bayside and Streetlight Manifesto amongst many others. Victory’s rock universe shows no signs of
slowing down, continuing to nurture and incubate virgin talent as demonstrated by the label's most recent signings. Victory is
also the only label with its own social networking community, VictorME.com, and its own bi-monthly television program, VicTorV
(also available as a free podcast at VicTorV.tv).
