NEW YORK, Aug. 29, 2007 -- eMusic
the world's largest retailer of independent music and the world's second-largest digital music service after iTunes, today announced that four of the world's top independent labels and longtime eMusic partners have renewed their agreements with the company: Beggars Group (which includes the labels 4AD, XL, and Rough Trade), Matador Records, Concord Music Group (which includes the legendary jazz catalogues of Fantasy and Prestige) and ATO Records. These four labels comprise such top-selling and critically-acclaimed artists as Cat Power, New Pornographers, Blonde Redhead, John Fogerty, Paul McCartney, Joni Mitchell, Patty Griffin and Gomez.

eMusic also announced that its overall label roster has hit 20,000 and that it has completed agreements with new independent record labels and distributors including: Peacefrog, Echo Label, Ltd., Boompa, Giantslayer, Labrador, Blanco y Negro Music, Elefant, Saavn, Pinnacle Entertainment, Southern Music Distribution and Believe Digital. eMusic's catalogue now totals more than 2.8 million tracks.
