A GEM

6bmike

What a suprise- not folk. ALt rock with a touch of humor in every song. This is a GEM with songs I find myself singing or humming all day. Always in the car cd player.

Catchy hooks, not too folky

Me.lissa.Klein

I like my folk music mixed with a little rock, and my musicians introspective without self-pity. Amy Rigby has a nice balance and writes about some little covered topics of mid-life changes without getting too maudlin.

Housewife Gets Nasty

"Magicians" and "Cynically Yours" are two my favorites tracks. Anywhere. The rest of the CD is pretty good as well. Folk/rock with lyrics as good as any.

This album, like Amy Rigby’s previous offerings, provides a sometimes scathing, often funny look at middle-aged post-divorce singledom. From the brash bombs dropped by songs like “Balls” to the heartbreak of “Stop Showing Up in My Dreams” and “Sleepin’ With the Moon,” this recording shows an artist who has been around the block a few times but at the end of the day feels pretty comfortable in her own skin. – Stacia Proefrock
