Though not blessed with the emphatic vocal energy or range of Otis Redding or Sam Moore, Eddie Floyd was capable of spectacular moments with the right material. These two triumphs, plus his explosive vocal on "Big Bird" and above-average performances on several other numbers including the intense "Girl I Love You," make this Floyd's best overall Stax release.
