swings !!!
Wow, the sounds he gets from that instrument and the tight backing make this an absoloute must. Topmost drawer (practically outermostfunk space)

I love this album partly because of the restraint it shows. I'm not so in love with this album partly because of the restrain it shows. This music at times reminds me of the album with MM&W w/Scofield, add the sax (lots of guitar sounds, here, much like Scofield) and rarely loses a certain level of self awareness. Yes, it is funky, but not wildly so. Still, it's so rare to find even a decent funky, grooving, acid jazzy set of music these days that I had to give it 5 stars. If you can find it, check out an old, old album - Stratospheric Breakdown, by The New Jersey Kings. I'd definitely download "All Kooked Out" if you like funky jazz or acid jazz...I did.
This album is better than words can even begin to describe. there is nothing like it. IT'S SICK! i would give my right arm for an album just like this one to come from either of these three guys again.... but alas there is none. :( if you don't buy this your stupid, thats all there is to it.
this thing is good, i wanna be friends with it. i wanna lay it down and stroke it. you get the picture, just download.
By far one of my favorite funk albums. This is classic stuff, however if you love this and want to make a leap into some seriously crazy stuff, try Stanton's other album 'Flyin' the Koop'. Unfortunately not on eMusic at this writing. Where All Kooked Out! is some fantastic funk clearly rooted in the chicken shack, 'Flyin' the Koop' is aptly named as Stanton and friends really cut loose and is a few steps above this album.
No seriously, quit reading this and download! This album is KILLER!
Having been a fan of Charlie Hunter and his 8 stringed guitar organ stylings, i was intrigued by this. If you are unsure just downland Tchfunka and you will be back for the rest.Warning: Contains insanely busy funky drumming!
Blues for Ben is the highlight of this album for me. Give that song a listen and tell me you can resist getting the rest. It's all great.
Hey, mom! I wanna play like he when I'm a grown up.
This album is an excellent. If you like funky jazz in the tradition of Charlie Hunter and Medeski, Martin, and Wood, check it out.
