Jorma A++++++++++

ndfly

As mentioned below, I too am building a collection of JK's work. I am a child of the late 60s music and Jefferson Airplane ruled(s)..and so does Jorma!

Nice Addition to Collection

I'm trying to build a complete Jorma collection and this is a recording I was missing. Glad to have it! I have enjoyed all things Jorma over many years. Too Many Years is my fav of this collection.

High quality

This is just about my favourite disc at the moment. I have been playing it endlessly and I am going to get the rest of Jorma's catalogue that is on emusic. Any chance of extending that catalogue and getting some of his newer releases emusic? Please!

"Hot" -- exactly

GDT

What this guy can do with an acoustic guitar and a blues riff, is probably illegal in Utah. Great stuff. Start with "Broken Highway", move on to "Walking Blues", then give in and download the whole thing. Too bad Emu doesn't cary Quah, his acoustic debut, which is a classic.

Feel it!

This would have to be one of my all time favorites. The closest thing to the sound on this album is possibly Harry Manx, but while Harry is technically amazing, Jorma goes the extra distance. Maybe it was just my mood at the time, but I could feel Jorma punch a hole in my chest, rip my insides up and leave them jangling about in the aftermath. Definitely a high rotation download.

On his first Relix album, Magic, Kaukonen was captured live reprising some of his best-known songs on acoustic guitar. On this followup acoustic release, he turns in a studio collection including some new songs and a few more remakes, among them “Death Don’t Have No Mercy.” The result doesn’t match his solo acoustic debut, which Relix would license from RCA and reissue in 1987, but it reconfirms his guitar abilities, and new songs such as “Too Many Years” are welcome additions to his repertoire. – William Ruhlmann
