Just Excellent

Excellent. Just Excellent. If Stokowski and Jacques Loussier collaborated on a Bach album, it might sound like this. Since a previous review mentioned the Swingle Singers, I will add that the comparison doesn't do this album justice. They sound nothing alike, and, personally, I think the Swingle Singers don't do a good job of interpreting Bach's music.

Back 2000

Find and ear Bach 2000 (why not 2005?) was a gladly surprise. Bach and jazz have been some good affinit in the time. Just remember how good were the SWINGLE SINGERS and the vocal arrangements and perfomances of Bach's music in recent past. But such a big band (and let's put big on this!), the fine arrangements, the way the bass level sounds, with bass-trombones, perhaps a tuba, trying to respect the organ sounds like a particular instrument ot Bach's time, makes this record to be the destination of special attemption, to be listen more than one time.
