Eccentric Interpretation

Pro primo, Yehuda Hanani is a man, not a woman. Pro secundo, this is the most eccentric recording of these suites that I have on the cello (and I have a few). I don’t mind a different approach, as long as it comes out musical to my ears. My only gripe is that the playing is less than perfect in places – still a double worth hearing!

decent recording of great pieces

This is a decent recording of Bach's wonderful pieces for solo cello. Hanani's performance is certainly competent, though I do find her tone a little unappealing at times. But that doesn't ruin it for me, the pieces still come to life. Go ahead and download it, you can't have too much Bach.
