This made me cringe. It does not do justice to this magnificent piece of music. Indeed, it drove me to iTunes where I can purchase the far superior recording with Solti and the Wiener Philharmonikor. I have to say, emusic disappoints in the classical music realm because it cannot provide the big labels with the better conductors and singers.
As far as I am able to tell, this is a 1994 recording, conducted by Peter Tiboris. The soloists are Maria Belcheva (soprano), Stefka Mineva (mezzo soprano), Roumen Doykov (tenor), and Dimiter Petkov (bass). The recording includes an alternate version of the "Liber Scriptus." Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the only other recording of the Requiem by Sofia clocks in at 6 minutes longer than this one.
