Beautiful! ... But...

AMWinSF

At times uplifting and ethereal, and at other times melancholic, this album is, overall, an exquisite musical work. It's too bad that the quality of the downloads does not match the quality of the music itself: only three of the ten tracks (tracks 1, 6 & 7) meet or exceed the MINIMUM standard for quality digital music downloads, or 192 kbps. The bit rate of the rest of the tracks ranges from 173 kbps to 186 kbps.

Heartfelt

Ascendant

There are artists who play their instruments; and then there are artists who 'become one' with their instruments. Lynne is one of those rare talents. Although these 2 releases are quite nice, 'Seasons of the Soul' is by far her best work. Check it out if you get the chance.

Excellent Accompanyment

I've known Jem Moore for about five years from the Kansas City Renaissaince Festival. When I saw that he was performing dulcimer on this album, I downloaded it on the strength of that alone. I was not disappointed. Excellent harping.

Timeless classic

Kez

Generally speaking, I detest new age music. But this is different. It has more of an 'old world' sound than is typical of the new age genre. E-music's glowing editorial review is absolutely correct. It is a timeless classic. I was so impressed with this artist, I downloaded Lynne's 'Maiden's Prayer,' which is also lovely. I see Lynne has several more CDs, but e-music doesn't offer them (sigh). I would definitely download more of her stuff. This is just pure balm for the soul.

Lisa Lynne is one of the kindest and gentlest souls in the world. In 2002, she conducted a music program at City of Hope, an internationally famous cancer research center. When she was home between concert gigs, she’d take her harps to the center near her home in Los Angeles. She gave workshops and concerts in rooms, halls, and treatment areas. She says, “I am humbled beyond words at the courageous and brilliant people [at the center].” Lynne wrote most of Hopes and Dreams there, directly from the inspiration that she received. This is heartfelt music. It is beautiful and pristine acoustic ambience, worthy of inclusion in any collection. The pieces range from bright to melancholy to bittersweet. Lynne’s graceful charm and sensitive compositional style belie and compliment her aggressive performing manner. Even though it is a new CD, this disc merits nine stars. It is a timeless, peerless, and ageless classic. – Jim Brenholts
