Take your time, it's worth it!
First of all, this album needs its time. So if you're in a hurry - try something else. Otherwise, listen to the album. Listen to it again. Maybe even listen to it yet again. Then make up your mind. "Hooked" was the song that got me, well, hooked initially (slow start, great chorus). Later on, I fell in love with the bitter-sweet "Easy". And it took me even longer to realize what a great song the opening "You're Losing Me" really is (there's more to it than just a nice little up-beat tune). So time and patience are of the utmost importance when exploring the world of Vanessa Peters. At first glance, it seems to be a sad world, though, full of failed or failing relationships, nostalgia, and her being torn between worlds. But you'll soon spot the hope and optimism that sparkles in that darkness. Which is why the album title is so appropriate.
