Like Listening to a David Lynch movie
Absolutely captivating menacing, minor key, 50s inspired guitar fuzz attack. An excellent, promising debut.

More of a rock sound than Lust Lust Lust but equally good.
I really like this album. Yep every song is extremely similar, but it's over before you know it, and you're gonna want to play it again. Great driving tunes.
Good music, but unfortunately they don't stray very far from the style of a 60's Jesus and Mary Chain. Download the first song and you've pretty much downloaded them all. However....if eMusic gets 'Pretty in Black', check that one out, one of the best of '05 - a much wider range of styles and sounds with amazing harmonies and song writing.
If you like The Jesus & Mary Chain and would like to hear some more of that familiar driven guitar playing coupled with deadpan vocals over a wail of feedback, then get this. This, their first album, is decent if somewhat derivative. They do get much better on their later albums (Unfortunately not available on Emusic as yet).
Energetic, dark, witty...makes you glad you're alive in this century to be able to hear a combination of rock'n'roll of the'60s with today's modern rock. Bands that make use of all their influences and add their own flair can never go wrong; the Raveonettes amazingly do it in songs that are only 2 or 3 minutes long. Their tunes are fast paced and short-lived, but they stick in your head for weeks. I recommend "Whip It On" to anyone that simply likes music; trust me, if you've never heard them, download any song, they're all great, or try "Veronica Fever" which is the song that if I had to choose one, is my favorite.
