Thank you Sophia Coppola for being responsible for turning me on to this group, through the Marie Antoinette's film soundtrack. I have every single full lenght album and two EP albums of The Radio Dept. I say, if you dig this band, check out Bent.. first "Programmed to Love". Heavenly, sweet, goodness.
This Swedish lot are not gonna change the world of music as we no it but it'a an enjoyable listen. Lighter and poppier than Shoegaze but the comparisons are there. Would like to see the band change the vocal fx sound a bit though. Fans of Popsicle will like this a lot.
The vocal melodies remind me of Starflyer 59. Musically nothing really unique but very well done. Meloncholy rock that hints at a shoegazer crush.
whispery vocals, lotta treble percussion tones, echo-y guitar and bass licks, with 80s keys -- the sounds all come together like Sea & Cake meets Luna. Recommended if you like: Sea & Cake, Luna (duh, sorry) and Helio Sequence, Plus Minus, Sam Prekop.
I really cannot get enough of this band. I listen to this over and over again.
wicked effin good... sometimes reminds me of drop nineteens
