A Xmas Album for People Who Don't Like Xmas Albums

hello-cthulhu

Though this will certainly please Dummies fans out there, I actually think it's a music of Christmas music that is just novel enough, just weird enough (in a good way!) to suit the tastes of people like myself who don't normally care for Christmas albums. You can play it at Christmas parties or for family gatherings, but not feel like you're giving in to any typical holiday schlock. And yes, there's Jingle Bells, the most ubiquitous, simplistic and overdone Xmas song ever. You'll never hear it the same way after hearing this version, which manages to reinvent the song as ... well, a very spooky jaunt. Huron Carol is beautiful without giving in holiday cheese. Not since the South Park Mr. Hankey Xmas album has there been a Christmas album so worth owning.

Ho Ho Ho Dummies

I love a good Christmas album and I am always looking to add another "different" addition. There's only so many ways to sing Jingle Bells or Silent Night. Brad and the gang really make these songs their own. You have to be a Dummies fan to appreciate -- but it's worth the buy if you are after some Christmas tunes.

Download Jingle Bells, at least!

On "Jingle Bells," The Crash Test Dummies pull a Harry Connick (as in "Winter Wonderland"), but with more claws & teeth. I used to hate this song until they got hold of it. Unfortunately, this treatment doesn't work quite as well on "Good King Wenceslas," which works best played straight.
