Progress
Wow, we have advanced so far in technology we are now reproducing the sound of a distant AM radio station being listened to on a 2 inch speaker-just like the 60's. I'll wait for the "re-mastered" version.
We’re sorry. This album is unavailable for download in your country (United States) at this time.

can songs invoke spirits?
it might sound overwhelming the first couple of listens, but trust me, it is fantastic. the low-fi-ness just adds to Ariel Pink's allure. As my wife put it, "He is a walking timewarp."
I listened to this album a couple times and promptly forgot about it. Then, several months later, a melody pops into my head and it's Ariel Pink and it's genius. In short: these songs will roam around autochthonously in your head with a life of their own for god knows how long. Sounds like a memory of somewhere/sometime you've never been to. A haunted BJ Snowden. Foggy and sloppy and sparkly and as unique and inspired as most anything out there.
uh, nah, i dont really think if youre animal collective or panda bear youll necessarily dig this. Theyre both weird, thats the only real tangible similarity i think. But while the AC and panda guys are more into manifesting luscious futuristic soundscapes from the bowels of geologists sampler or the metallic cry of deakins guitar, ariel is more of a time machine super ninja fighter, who takes songs that could have been smash hits twenty years ago and unleashing them onto the unsuspecting masses who pay no attention. In short, animal collective=future, ariel pink=past, but they both=awesome.
A really great album. A must have if you're into Panda Bear, or Animal Collective.
I find this is one of those albums you desparately want to like and you can understand why some people would love it, but it doesn't quite hit with me. THe ideas are great and its definately worth a listen, but you may have a hard time bopping on down to this. You'll have to put a bit of effort in and will get some rewards through multiple listens, but I would start with one of his more recent albums
