A solid selection of songs with powerful vocals from a femme fatale playing the title role. She covers a nice range of styles, from soft pop on "Walk with me" (which reminds me of John Denver's "Leaving on a jet Plane") to a nice raunchy swing on "Liquor store" with flashes of jazz along the way. No dogs here. A totally unexpected and highly pleasant discovery, which is the real reason I use eMusic.
I saw Devil Doll in a tiny underground club (literally) during a local Rockabilly Night. Those other bands were quickly forgotten once Devil Doll took the stage. She is mesmerizing to watch and to hear. She can make you hold your Honey a little bit tighter one minute and then stand back to appreciate her for her raw, sexual power the next. My girl left the club singing, "You Are The Best Thing and The Worst Thing" and then took me home and showed me what a real woman is capable of...and I loved it.
Sultry, smokey, and dangerously sexy. Just the way you like it.

I cannot believe I have never heard of Devil Doll before - an amazing album. Some of my faves would have to be St Christopher, Liquor Store, Walk with me, but honestly there is not a song on this album I don't like. The lead singer has the most sexy and amazing voice...well worth downloading!
It's amazing there are not more albums out for Devil Doll. The lead singers soulful voice cradles the ear through tunes like Bourbon In Your Eyes. Definately a keeper for those late night listening binges
but that ain't bad.

Excellent track: "You are the best and the worst thing". Walk With Me somehow sounds like the Pretenders doing Leaving On A Jet Plane, but far better than I would have imagined it.
