rough but good!
One should probably start with his proper albums on Young God such as Nino Rojo and Rejoicing in the Hands which sound terrific, this gives a really rough sounding introduction to a folk singer who has a tied twisted way with words. He has a found a type of purity through the madness with a steady rhythm it requires many listens to finally get a hold of what is really going on a masterful language mixed with off-kilter folk guitar styles. Also check out Vashti Bunyan, Joanna Newsom which have a similar effect and our features on a comp made by Banhart that is now out of print.
