One of my all-time favorites
An extremely effective fusion of styles, this is different and original enough to stand out but well-grounded enough in good 'traditional' songwriting technique to appeal immediately. There's a core of black metal here, but mutated by exposure to industrial noise and goth-rock. The drum-programming is thoughtful, the riffs are often eerie, sometimes triumphant, the vocals are a srange, shrill 'whisperscream' sometimes switching to an evocative croon, and the songs are memorable. Particular standouts are the harrowing progressive journey of 'Crimson Awakening', the chilling emptiness of 'Void', the beauty and thunder of 'Demon', and the frantic twitch of 'Perdurabo'.
