Some emotion, some showing off
This is a nice balanced selection of music. I often get very annoyed with virtuoso (read show off) music, but this CD, for the most part, treads carefully just on the right side of the line, although none of the pieces are anything less than demanding on the performer. In particular Cécile Chaminade's Concertino is amazing - why don't we here it more? I try and think of great female composers and I don't get to far. They should be playing this every day on Classic FM.
