A refreshing variant on klezmer favorites

Ivanchemist

Grisman and Statman have a series of "klezmer" and religious tracks played as a mandolin and clarinet duet. The musicianship is crisp, and the songs retain the feeling of early 20th century Eastern Europe. Yet the arrangements are fresh, and avoid sounding like "another" klezmer compilation Download Enjoy !

Transmutation,transformation

Maitreya2

When I listen to a mandolin, I may think of Greece or perhaps of Spain, however when it is played with the clarinet and with the Guitar__I find myself transported in a new space and my curiosity is indeed awakened. Listening to snipets of 30 seconds was even powerful enough. "Adon Olam" is stirring as ever yet it is played on the guitar. This is indeed a refreshing album that I would recommend If you enjoy a dreamy moody exploration of your inner space.

Very Nice

You don't have to be Jewish to enjoy this album. If you like good mandolin playing give it a try.

This is a Must Download

Gruven-Reuven

If you are a fan of Klezmer music, or a Dawg/Grateful Dead fan, or even a fan of Bluegrass.... then this is a MUST download for you. Grisman and Statman team together to bring the perfect blend of Klezmer music with Bluegrass. An amazing cd

Nice selection of traditonal sound

NEWTOEMUSIC

I'm not very familiar with Jewish music, but this seems like a nice selection of the traditonal sound.
