Downloaded Electric Avenue. Where else can you get such a variety of hits at this price! I'm glad I gave eMusic a chance.
'TIMEWARP', the instrumental version of nobody's got time' is one of my alltime favourite dance tunes....and it would have been great to hear it in a non-vinyl download...next time, Mr.Grant / emusic!! Saying that, this is a great intro compilation, and worth the download.
Eddy Grant....Jazz Fusion??...lol
I love "Electric Avenue" and "Romancing the Stone". Glad to have this on emusic.
Romancing the Stone-that was/is a great one! This makes me want to get my old roller skates out-notice I said skates, not blades! It was his 2nd biggest hit behind Electric Avenue, I thought.
"Nobody's Got Time" on Disc 2 is a great song. I personally didnt care for his other songs, but I appreciate that he is a good artist. Just not my taste, thats all. However, that song "Nobody's Got Time", download that one first. It's awesome.
Eddy Grant is one of those artists that makes me sit down, scratch my head and wonder why his music isn't better known. With the sole exception of Electric Avenue, his albums are largely out of print and VERY hard to find. His music is GREAT. Everything on this album is gold. While none of the songs will match the crossover success of Eletctric Avenue, even to the newest listener, his music is raggae tainted music that you can't help but like. I would have like to have had one of my favorite tracks from "Killer on the Rampage"-"Drop" included here but that is a mere quibble. I just wish Eddy would get more of a fan base and more people would dig him. Now I can work on getting the New Pornographers more fans, my job here will be done.
