Must have!

riteandritual

If you are going to get just one Korpiklaani album, it has to be this one. While the later ones are more polished, this album has so many songs that are must-plays at every concert: the epic brutal Cottages & Saunas, the fun Journey Man, the soulful Pine Woods, the epic Hunting Song, and the all-time favorite guaranteed show-topper - Beer Beer! For those who know finnish, I also recommend the Old Tale - one my favorite on the album. Ryyppajaiset is also one of my favorite Korpiklaani instrumentals - only second to Pellon Pekko.

5 Stars. I would give it 20 stars if I could. this is just a very enjoyable CD. From first to last track, everything is done first rate. A perfect mix of folk music and metal especially since I'm a big fan of both Celtic music and Metal. Korpiklaani is one of the best finds on eMusic.

Folk *metal*

ArthurC

I have never heard metal done with such a strong mix of folk instruments (I'm pretty sure there's even an accordian in there). The mix struct me first as odd, but it grew on me before the end of the album. And a drummer who pounds the skins like there's no tomorrow. Fantastic album!

Folk Metal fans, listen up

MetalCoven

I ended up loving the first Korpiklaani album, but that album can't touch the professionalism and greatness of "Voice Of The Wilderness". Anyone who liked "Spirit Of The Forest" is going to love this one. This album is a must have for all folk metal fans, as well as metal fans in general who are looking for something a bit different to make up for the monotony of regular metal these days. There's even a video of "Hunting Song" included on the CD to sweeten the deal. Hey, I'd even recommend booze hounds to pick this up so they have good catchy sing along songs to listen to while they swill the beer down their throat. I honestly can't recommend this album enough to anyone reading this.
