INSPIRATION

EMUSIC-00D8D0B6

NJbrilla I AGREE WITH YOU... YOU ARE JUST SOME MORON SITTING IN FRONT OF YOUR COMPUTER. THIS MUSIC IS WHAT INSPIRED AND CREATED HIP HOP... AND REAL HIP HOP... CERTAINLY NOT OF LAUREN HILL OR MOST OF THE CURRENT "SO CALLED HIP HOP" WHICH IS SO FAR FROM WHAT HIP HOP IS THAT IT SHOULD BE CALLED SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. IF YOU ACTUALLY KNOW HIP HOP, YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE LAST POETS AND START NAMING OFF ALL OF THE REAL HIP HOP ARTISTS WHO HAVE SAMPLED THEM. YOU HAVE STUMBED ACROSS A GEM AND TOSSED IT AWAY BECAUSE YOU ARE TOO FOOLISH AND IGNORANT TO DO OTHERWISE. I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU.

Radical and conservative?

Selothi

Listening to the Last Poets i can't help thinking how close 'radical' often is to 'conservative'. "Jamming immodestly in a mini-skirted mass" for instance, a line from "It's A Trip". And how close 'consciousness' often is to 'tunnel vision'. That said, this is funky, lyrical and (best of of all) completely its own being. Not just another tired set of 'beats' and 'mixes'. In short, if you like the intelligent end of rap you'll probably like this.

Nonsense

NJbrilla

what a lame excuse for whatalanism. see, i just made up a whole new word and im just some moron sitting in front of my computer! this is a bad take on real innovation. a horrible representation of anything unique(and lacking real ideas, which would have at least made it listenable). if you want real spoken word poetry that IS hip hop,(which this is not) try Lauren Hill-History of Iniquity off of her unplugged album.

Love it!

This Is Madness didn't do much for me (it seemed more an imitation of tribal music than something original). This album, on the other hand, is catchy and funky and offensive -- I love it!
