Good In Everyone Is Pretty Darn Good

Download the first track, "The Good in Everyone" - you won't be disappointed. It's garage rock with harmonies. Groovy man.

It’s fitting that this band has a hot girl’s name because only a hot girl would like it –- you know the kind that's so pretty that no one holds her accountable for her terrible taste. Sloan answers the question, what would Fountains of Wayne sound like if that band was less clever, less tuneful and had less testosterone? And I don’t even like Fountains of Wayne. Sorry for the tedious kvetching but I’m still mad that I bought this once upon a time.

solid and enjoyable

Not the hookiest album around -- only 'G turns to D' really got stuck in my head -- but I always enjoy listening to it and you get the sense Sloan can do whatever they want, musically.

One Of The Best Of The 90's!!!

This album inspired me to buy a drumset. Hooks galore, a great vintage sound, and the bonus disc that came with the original CD is great, also - Live At A Sloan Party!!!

Power Pop Skillz

Yes this is a goddamn masterpiece of sugary power-pop-rock gems: The melodys the hooks - Killer. Underated, overlooked and very hard to find outside of Canada... listen and love.

Following the bungled American release of Twice Removed, it seemed unlikely that Sloan would survive, let alone record an album as wonderful as One Chord to Another. On the group’s previous album, Sloan had refashioned itself as a power pop band, often with terrific results, but on One Chord to Another the songwriting blossoms. Filled with catchy, jangling riffs and memorable melodies, the record is a tour de force of hooks and harmonies, filled with exceptionally strong songs and forceful performances, which give the record a firm, rocking foundation. Few power pop records of the ’90s are as infectious and memorable as One Chord to Another. – Stephen Thomas Erlewine
