top 10 lists

Bobuar

although this album is not in my top ten favorite bands or albums of all times, it makes top ten drummers list easily and also into the sans vocals category. They would be a strong contender for best song titles from a musical group also. This album is definitely in my top ten Don Caballero records list.

Another Good Album

z00york

Although this album is not my favourite don cab release (as it is to alot of don cab fans) i still love it to bits, its stronger in the realm of chaotic jazz fusion, whilst subtle melodies shine through with perfect timing. want a tightly performed jazz infused mess with subtle melodies and some of the most innovative drumming you will ever hear? then download this album! have a brain that can only handle rigid, overused and redundant compositional structures? then download something else!

zzzzzzzz.....

Like most efforts by "musicians' musician" artists "What burns never retuns" leaves this musician wondering when the actual song will start. Sounds like a lot of warming up/intro stuff to me. Very technical, very sonically diverse, and very boring.

Excellent stuff

DippitySauce

"Delivering The Groceries At 138 Beats Per Minute" is among the best metal riffs in rock music. Don Cab was a furiously excellent instrumental band that has no equal. I saw them before they grew up and they blew me away.

They Say All Music Guide

Yet another testament of pure musical genius from the wizards of Don Caballero. This album — probably their greatest effort to date and a keystone instrumental album — will make musicians stand open-mouthed in absolute amazement, wondering just how such music is written. Insane rhythms change time and key without a second thought — beautiful, off-time, yet somehow interlocking notes and melodies fill the ears in a barrage of panicked sound. At one minute dreamy, soothing and thought-expanding, at another spastic and mind-pounding. What Burns Never Returns is definitely something that has to be heard to be believed — and it could most definitely alter the way you think about music forever. – Blake Butler
