My Ideal Electronic Industrial Album

CadetSF

I've only recently gotten into Electronic Industrial, but I've started to listen to bands like VNV Nation, Imperative Reaction, Cesium_137, and others and I have to say this has become one of my favorite albums. On Praise the Fallen VNV Nation manages to cover a wide range of styles from the pounding sounds of Joy to the rush of Honour and the very atmospheric Forsaken and Ascension. It's definitely got a military theme running throught the lyrics and the music composition itself with samples from radio chatter, machine gun bursts, and other such iconic sounds. This album is a must to download.

Great, but they've got better since

WORLDBYSTORM

I like this album, the first I ever purchased by VNV. Although the relentless beats can get a bit oppressive Solitary is a remarkable song. Their later works have seen them up the melodies to produce some truly cutting edge EBM. And they're half Irish, although no-one in Ireland seems to realise!

Very nice

Love this stuff, got into VNV nation based on just random songs I found, glad I could finally get a hold of the album, this one's really good "Voice" is really nice. "Honour" has really fun lyrics. (and to the above reviewer, they probably don't have the license to sell it in Canada :( )

The rockin’ starts out gloomy and gets even gloomier on VNV Nation’s Praise the Fallen. The war-torn wasteland imagery in the ponderous opening track, “Chosen,” pretty much sets you up for the rest of this disc. Even a song called “Joy” features lyrics like “Have I no control? Is my soul not mine?” – Tim Sheridan
