Freakqualizer Freakin' ROCKS!

the-rock

“Freakqualizer” by Honeycreeper is a great album by an amazing band. But the last reviewer is right- this does not really belong in the World/Reggae section. Although there's a definite reggae vibe on this album (like on the amazing track titled "LandMind") Honeycreeper definitely is not a world/reggae band. They're also not a straight-up ska band either. Really, Honeycreeper isn't straight-up anything- except a straight-up awesome band! On this album, Honeycreeper mixes up a bunch of different styles- mostly ska, punk and funk, and creates one of the most original, rocking albums I've ever heard in a long time! Seriously, this is a great album. It's super high-energy, great sounding, and a ton of fun. Honeycreeper is not "a high school band kids get their own band together after graduation"- the musicianship is so sick on the album, you know this band has been playing their instruments for years. A "must-see" live band and "Freakqualizer" is definitely worth downloading.

Eh, not so much ska...

You could maybe jam this into the alt/punk/ska section but it surely doesn't belong in the World/Reggae bins. Its more like a high school band kids get their own band together after graduation. Its a cute record, but I'd hate anyone to get confused about the genre.
