I had no idea what I was getting into with Portal. I must have searched through dozens of Prog Rock pages before I stumbled upon them. I downloaded "Blood Red Tape" and rigth after listening to it I jumped over to this cd to download it. "The Paradigm" is a GREAT song along with the rest of this album. If you can't decide which Portal album to get, try this one. the songs tend to stay in a good lengthy range. then jump over to "Blood Red Tape" where the songs get in the double digits as far as minutes go

The production is not the greatest (they re-recorded some songs on their latest album) but as it is, this stands out on its own as a great album -- there's a definite Tool influence on the more melodic tracks, with a good dose of Filter's crunchy guitars thrown in . . . howbeit more intelligent lyrics. I like it.
