good live effort
It is revealing to hear Eric's rhythmic stylings on this live set. His licks don't always follow the beat exactly, but they do always rock. If you like Eric Johnson, you'll really enjoy this.

Noone else sounds like eric...incredible!
One thing you can always say is that Eric Johnson's playing sounds unique! This is an excellent example of the earlier works of EJ. This recording is in regular rotation on my Ipod!
G3 tour the BEST EVER!!!! Concord Pavillion...
Eric Johnson's playing during this live performance is incredible!
Then the electric guitar gods created Eric Johnson in their image. No one even comes close to Eric, he is simply the best.
If you are here, you know that Eric Johnson is one of the most awesome guitar players you'll hear, dead or alive. Every time I hear him play I simultaneously want to quit playing guitar and yet drop everything and practice 10 hours a day. Every song has at least one mind blowingly cool moment. The standouts are: East Wes, Cliffs of Dover, Righteous, and Are You Experienced (the vocals aren't *too* bad on that one). Those songs are so great they make the whole album get four stars. Caution: just avoid the ones with vocals! The ones with vocals, sure, have good guitar solos but then you have to listen to the horrid singing. I mean, the singer (hope it's not Eric) sounds like he lost his job singing songs for Neverending Story movie soundtracks. If Desert Rose lacked the uber cheesy lyrics and bad singing, it would be musically interesting. Suffice it to say, the lyrics are about as bad as that outfit he has on on the cover of the album. Yow! Stick to playing guitar, dude!
This guy has spiritual technique and a live album like this is one of the best introductions to his music. His studio albums never cease to amaze me, they are incredibly uplifting - EJ is my favorite guitarist, by far.
