Tiffany's version of You've Got a Way is as good as the original. Few of these songs impressed me much when Shania sang them. That song is good, and the cover is great. Only one I recommend downloading. The rest of the artists are terrible.
no doubt the covers of Shania material here are well intentioned, and might even carry some of the spirit... but where's the production value? Few country fans probably realize that a big part of her runaway success was the studio finesse provided by none other than Robert "Mutt" Lange. He's the British guy who put the gloss into Def Leppard's "Photograph" and honed the "Back In Black" sound of AC/DC into an irresistible edgy darkness. Unfortunately none of the lesser acts here seem to have grasped the big rock studio sound concept that gives Shania her sheen, and put her in a Swiss Villa. That's right, the Florida gal moved to Europe alongside her man Mutt... None of these acts will relish a similar multi-platinum fate.
Yeah....heaven forbid a musician sing a song without it being sterilized by a some guy with a computer...
