Screw You, Guitarrock, I Like Soundgarden

Chris Cornell & Co. did as much with weird time signatures as Dream Theater ever did. Haters gonna hate.... Anyway, great album. Edgier than your typical prog-metal, and focused much more on solid songwriting and mood-setting than instrumental wankery.

For progmetal fans

Guitarrock

BT are back with another progressive metal offer post-Jorn; the new singer does behave competently and the instrumental parts are hypertechincal and intricated, in short a very solid release for fans of the progmetal genre. Three-chord strumming flannel shirt band fans may have trouble relating to this as there is little in terms of emo teen angst screaming. Not to worry though, you can waste your money on noise pollution such as Bullet for my Valentine or even go back in time and subsidize Nirvana/Soundgarden or even Pearl Jam (shivers). Or refer to the punk/alt section of emusic

this album is almost perfect, interesting song writing, proggy kind of metal thats not too full of itself, you can listen to it again and again and find something new every time, an order of magnitude better than Devil's hall of fame (which was a great album too) the keyboardist is main songwriter. the singer Kelly 'sundown' Carpenter really fits in musically with band better than Jorn Lande. Carpenter is apparently flipping all beef patties at a burger joint in texas since he blew it with Beyond Twilight, which is too bad because when Finn Z. is guiding him on how to sing he is incredible, listen to Carpenter belt out Shadow Self (or check out the video) or The Path of Darkness, listening to these two still makes chills run up and down my spine, the vocals are amazing. Production quality on this one is excellent, my only nitpick is the very competent guitarist needs to breakout occasionally, you know what I mean?
