Flawed but Enjoyable

Runicen

For those who have played the game, it's worth warning you that this soundtrack contains about half of the in-game music. This is the only thing keeping me from giving it a five-star rating. The music in part or whole is phenomenal, both on its own merits and as a piece of nostalgia. See the previous post for info on ripping the music from the game directly if you still have your discs. I'd still recommend buying this as it's one of the best ways to give an economic nod to Frank K himself.

Re-Live the Sounds of the Classic Computer Game

ComradeQ

I have enjoyed Frank Klepacki's scores throughout his long stint with Westwood entertainment. His long history of composing tracks for the video game industry is incredible, and his scoring for Red Alert was probably one of his best. The heavy beats and overall industrial sound matched the game perfectly, although there were some other tracks, such as "Afterlife" that were quiter in nature but nevertheless gave a sense of impending doom. Give it a listen and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. A note to those who already own the Red Alert game disc: It is possible to extract the music directly from the disc through the use of XCC utilities, so disc owners should not be compelled to download something that they technically already own!
