Without liner notes it's hard to say if these are authentic Vassilis or not. They are certainly not rebetiko, but laika from the late 1950's or 60's. The sound quality is excellent, but there are lots of production touches that remind the listener of the same period of US pop--female choruses, reverb on the voices, etc. Enjoyable enough, but not for rebetiko enthusiasts.
Anonymous, uninspired and definately not genuine versions of the classic Tsitsanis recordings...
These do not appear to be original recordings by/with the master Tsitsanis. They are modern re-recordings. While they are nice in itself, they are nothing compared to the real spirit. The designation "Artist: Vassilis Tsitsanis" is misleading, as these are indeed his songs, but not played by him with his orchestra.
