Pleasant
It's nice. Does what it sets out to do, but will never be anyone's favourite record. You don't so much listen to this album as step into it like a warm bath. And sometimes, that's exactly what you need.

This album lacks Eluvium's poignancy or Stars of the Lid's sleepy melancholy(that description sounded kinda pretentious, but it is the most succinct way of saying it), and it fact a lot of it seems to lack emotion other than "vaguely happy". However this doesn't really detract from it. It just makes it pure background listening. It's the kind of ambient that's so ambient it's hard to concentrate on even if you tried. Given the track titles, which are places that one is apparently supposed to imagine while listening(Beside a Well, Bonfire on a Field, etc.), maybe that was the intention. You could see them as movie soundtracks to scenes where nothing particularly important was happening - just dudes sitting beside a well, or having a bonfire on a field. It's a meditative sort of music. It's a lot like Loscil in this way. Loscil's music is typically also conceptual and evocative. The difference is, Loscil sucks. This doesn't. You might even say it's really good.
