Poor sound quality
Don't know who's responsible, but the sound quality of this recording is a huge turn off. This would clearly be a really thumping album but due to the sound quality it sounds distorted and distant. A real shame...

For god's sake go back into the studio and remaster this damn thing, it sounds absolutely dreadful. some halfway decent songs massacred by shoody craftsmanship. Boooo
Now I'm a member of the Russian Futurists!
I have no idea why I like this so much, but it's so addictive!
There are no words to describe how truely wonderful this record is... well, some words. jess
Unlike the first two albums, The Russian Futurists manage to keep the percussion (especially the snare) from distracting from the true star of his music -- his melodies. Once again changes within songs are rare and subtle in most cases, but I rarely want them to go anywhere else anyway. The last three tracks are my personal favorite.
Excellent use of all levels from treble to bass, keeps you listening for the next change, and is in stride with every word! Great to listen to!
I like the first two Russian Futurists albums, but this is the record where Matthew Hart really hits his stride. "Paul Simon" is an instant classic, but every song on the album applies the cut-up sample technique of old-school hip-hop (Beastie Boys/De La Soul tradition) and electronica to wordy indie pop tunes in a unique and interesting way. Great stuff.
