This is probably one of the best albums Ive ever had the pleasure of swimming around in. Its long and involving, luxurious and melodic, creative, inspiring, meaningful, intelligent, humorous, zeitgeisty, political, important and many more things I cant think of now. Ive changed my life a few times since this came out, one of those changes was partially to do with a sentiment which quite possibly was initiated by or atleast helped by this album and the meaning I got from it. There is a great sense of clarity and individuality and defiance whilst still being mature and intelligent in this. Musically, it is supreme, melodics that would reinvigorate the dead cardiovascular-system of a corpse, melodies and lush layer based tapestries of intricate detail and vitalogy. You know that this was made for the maker more than for the listener but the makers ear has a wide and fantastical knowledge as to sustain the listener in minutia. Thank you for the best trip of my life.

Probably MBM`s strongest work

But for those wondering about the second disc, you`re NOT missing anything, it was just some ambient filler crud that went nowhere.

Where IS the second disc?

projeckt2501

The second disc IS much better. Why IS it not here?

MBM hits all over the place with this 2-CD release (obviously from others' comments, the 2nd is missing, but you're not missing much with its absence). If you're a backwards-looking fan, you'll probably enjoy what I consider the high points on the album: tracks 2, 3, 8, 12, and 16. Otherwise, tracks range from spastic (though not by previous MBM standards) to surreal. Best way to find out of course is to download the whole--I don't think you'll be disappointed!

it is a great album . the two disks that it's supposed to contain are very different, but both are great. Over time I got to like the second disk more. The music is difficult to describe - it is electronic, but has a very organic, deep sound. I like a dub flavor in the mbm music. Some cuts remind me of early cabaret voltaire, but they are far from being a cv rip off - obviously everyone is influenced by something that's been done before to certain degree. interesting thing about the second disk - i tried to rip it (I have the CD) and the mp3 of the last song comes out skipping. But the interesting part is that my friend ripped his copy and got the same result. I wonder if there is a technical problem with making the second disk available.

Mmmmm

The entire second disc is missing. What's up with that! Tracks 4 and 5 make you wanna hurt someone in the dark, but only if they're...willing (heh-heh).

Sounding like virtually none of his contemporaries (except perhaps Future Sound of London), Jack Dangers puts industrial textures to work as a mask for intense vocal samples and breakbeat rhythms plus the occasional organic instrument like guitar and even clarinet. Though Subliminal Sandwich sprawls a bit over the course of its two discs (much like FSOL’s Lifeforms), it only rarely fails to excite. – John Bush
