Texas mixture

Average-Nights-Jack

This was my first Jesse Dayton purchase and I liked it. He covers a wide spectrum of sub-genres and is difficult to pigeon-hole. This is no bad thing in my book, it's what I love about other Texans, such as Delbert McClinton. There's blues and honky tonk mixed in with rock and texmex, all done to a good standard. Therefore, I'm going to have to download some more and start another collection, thanks e-Music.

Real Rock and Roll

PeppermintDog

I came looking for a duet album by Dayton and Brennan Leigh and found this one instead. If you read the excellent book, "Sounds of The City," you know that rock and roll was born at a dusty crossroads one Thursday afternoon when ghost of Stephen Foster met the ghost of Robert Johnson. This may not be the greatest album ever recorded, but it says a lot about where rock and roll came from...definitely worth a listen.
