purchased this on the same day as the first pharcyde lp in 1993. You could'nt get two different lps. Obviously heavily influenced by P.E, but is that a bad thing? Used to play this lp to death and still love it. download, buy it, just get it.

Genius!

A touchstrone for concious hip-hop - still relevant and as ferocious as it was 15 years ago..... this is a fantastic album.

From One Bush to the Next

TMFHitman

I am struggling to understand how a hip-hop fan might have rated this album a three. This record is a rap touchstone from the perspective of lyrics, production and even business - when Tommy Boy balked at releasing this (apparently the sonically breath-taking "Bush Killa" didn't fly for the suits), Paris created Scarface Records and released it himself, a process many artists have since followed. The whole process took so much time that he only caught the last few months of Bush the Elder's term (who wants to assassinate an ex-president, anyway?) but the entire song finds itself eerily relevant now 14 years later. Also check out the furious "Guerrilas in the Mist" (over the track from "Break the Grip of Shame" from the first album), "Coffee, Donuts and Death" and the more relaxed but still topical "Days of Old". Most hip-hop still hasn't caught up to this. But I'll bet Paris has an FBI file.
