I like Aloha

ritta69

I copied some Aloha from my old room-mate and liked it enough to download more. They are relaxing pop-rock/alt-rock/indie-rock. Brace Your Face is my favorite song on the album

An excellent album that will not disappoint. Aloha's "Some Echoes" is gentle, emotional, and simplistic. These are four musicians who use their talent simply to write great songs with depth and maturity.

Downloaded this album a few months ago and it's still one I keep coming back to. It's definately on my "solid" list when I can't decide what I want to load on my (1 gig) mp3 player.

aloha's music continues to evolve in this latest effort. *some echoes* is the second full length release by the current incarnation of the band, and it does not disappoint. ive really liked this band since i bought their e.p. in 1999, so i guess im predisposed to whatever they put out...but really, its a good cd. if you have the opportunity, try to catch a live show .................. arna.dosa ..... myspace.com/vidavox

By Big Ugly Yellow Couch

Big Ugly Yellow Couch is an acoustic video series run by photographer Donald Rasmussen and writer Carlye Wisel, two goons with an ugly piece of furniture and a relentless desire to help expose unbelievable artists to energetic fans. With Some Echoes, Aloha craft an imaginative amalgam of all of their favorite musical fruit. Fusing prog rock and indie pop, the disc builds ambitiously on the acclaimed Here Comes Everyone, as evidenced by the lush, stunning ballad “If I Lie Down” and the psychedelic rock redux opener, “Brace Your Face,” which puts the group with Cleveland origins in the company of classic bands from the turn of the ’70s. Vocalist Tony Cavallario’s voice is as lucidly charming and necessary as the band’s prog leanings, a notion affirmed by the swooning joy of “Align Your Eyes” and the guitar-driven “Weekend.” Still, the united talents of this group are unmistakable throughout Some Echoes, from the percussive attack of “Mountain” to the noodling expanse of “Ice Storming.” – John D. Luerssen
