What a way to go out!
Lor Jesu, I queued up the first track and listened to the whole three volumes straight through. Magnificent!

This can't be Miles Davis. The overblown background music is just like fingernails on a chalkboard. It hurts your ears. While this may be one his last performances, it isn't the way I want to remember (or hear) Miles Davis. IMHO.
This is not worth hearing, period. Yes, Miles Davis is blowing his good phrases, but whoever decided he ought to have some oversized electrified pop orchestration behind him was drunk or stoned. I defy you to find a single track that doesn't make your skin crawl. The synthesizer and space-thrash guitar licks just don't mix with Miles' oldschool true-to-life jazz trumpet. He far outclasses his backup musicians and it is sad that this is one of his last recordings. BAD!
His last tour in Europe, not long before he died. With Foley McCreary (lead bass), Kenny Garrett (sax) and others. This is the fastest and the funkiest Miles you've ever heard. The entire concert spans 3 volumes. There is also a DVD of this.
