listener is mouse
This was my introduction to Susumu Yokota, a serendipitous purchase made mostly on a whim at Newbury Comics. The vocabulary of my English language is insufficient to set this recording apart from the rest of Yokota's work: Dreamy, cyclical, transcendent, gorgeous, playful.. ultimately, Susumu is playing cat and mouse with the listener here. His soundscapes have just enough cogency to keep you grasping for something to hold onto, but he stays just out of reach.. mirage-like. Overall, it's music from another world, well worth the effort it may take to develop a taste for it all. "So Red" was one of my favorites from the beginning, vaguely jazzy.
