" Some Velvet Morning"
Cactus thorns in my bare ass, riding horses on the beach at Malibu naked, spewing peyote buttons like a cannon shot.Yeah this take me right back there.

Strange and beautiful - yes, strangely beautiful! After hearing snippets of this off and on for the last ten years on late night radio, I just recently (like last week) found out who did this song. I was a little surprised to find out it was Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood! I thought for sure it would be some obscure underground 60's band. But, yeah ... TEN years it took me to figure out this song and now - here it is! Yay!
C'mon.
These are some of the darkest pieces of pop out there. Hazlewood is the original emo-rocker, if you only download two get "some velvet morning" and "summer wine".
This seems like it should have wound up playing on the soundtrack to PF. Dig it? I dunno... so weird, man.
fantastic old album with original recordings. I had this on record and it was worn out by constant playing. Lee and Nancy's version of Jackson is a classic.
Songs like Some Velvet Morning, Sand, and Summer Wine are all amazing tracks!! but the rest is a kind of hokey country style that reminds me of Oklahoma playing on my grandmothers record player. Get those three and you are on your way to getting a little closer to the flowers of evil.
