Boots
Owned the record sleeve for years....the music inside is just as kitsch and cool as the cover.

Nancy Sinatra's big hit from the sixties had great radio airplay on AM and the newer FM channels due to her famous father. However dated the song sounds now, it is really brilliant on digital technology, and brings back a flood of memories from the late 60's. Complete with tamborine, this sound is definitely progressive for the time it was made, competing with several biggies such as Sonny and Cher, and Petula Clark. Does rather sound loungesque because of her family -and you can bet 'ol Blue Eyes helped her get her big break. The late sixties were turbulent times indeed, but the simple style and lyrics flow easily from her alto voice, in a very clear-clean style.
Not a bad song on here. Check out her version of"Flowers on the Wall" Of course "Boots" and Beatles song. You can't be disappointed.
Yeah, I agree - 'These Boots' is a good one for the oldies collection, but if you want something really interesting by Nancy, check out 'Some Velvet Morning' - a duet with Lee Hazelwood. (Available on eMusic.) Hauntingly beautiful, yet totally cheesy at the same time, her vocals on this attempt at psychedelic pop really stand out. IMHO, of course. :)
This takes me back to being a kid again. Even if you're not a huge fan of hers this is the cd to own. Great rendition of the Beatles song Day Tripper.
Great! Her best album and includes some nice bonus tracks.
I recently heard this song on the Coverville podcast and had to track it down. Thanks eMusic! Of course I was familiar with the title track and many of the other covers on this album, but I'd never heard "Run For Your Life Before." Brilliant stuff.
Downloaded These Boots Are Made For Walking. It's a must have for any oldies collection, isn't it?
This music holds up quite well mix it in with some of todays girl, punk, pop and it's not a bad fit at all.
this was the lp that started her career..not the greatest vocals..but for the times..it was a great recording..remembered wearing out one lp of this and having to get another..and need i say the outfit was 'groovy'
