The chip’s early-’80s technology, which includes three tone oscillators and rudimentary sampling capabilities, gives the album an 8-bit charm that’s deceptively simple, spanning pixilated covers of 1980s and ’90s pop, as well as original electro, drum ‘n’ bass, gabber and electro-pop.
