Man, this has to be one of the hottest albums to drop in the last ten years. Picture Prince, D'Angelo, Robert Plant, Stevie, and some beathead all the studio together. Once they stopped fighting (you know they're all used to being the boss), they MIGHT make something that sounds as good as this. It's funky, and simultaneously modern and retro. The tunes stick like freaking glue to your brain, and the whole album plays with sounds in a really creative way. I love it.
A nice laid back, positive sound to start and end the day with. The comparisons to Prince, Jamie Lidell, or Stevie are a little off -- this is a unique sound with lovely beats and a gruffer falsetto -- Nino has something else to offer.

It is so good to see some new talent breaking with the traditions of the music industry; this is a melting pot of funk, soul, rock, downtempo; a real departure from the mainstream. Overall it is like early Prince, or Jamie Liddell; if you like these artists you should LOVE Nino. Listen to "Are you for real?" & "Strong Man" for a good example of what to expect.
If Prince and Stevie Wonder had a love child, it'd be Nino. 'nuff said. Download "Are You For Real" and tell me I'm wrong. Your hips alone will prove me right.
