This is Russian music arranged by a French composer (Ravel) performed by an English orchestra -- Run away, and don't look back. Seek out a good recording of the Gorchakov orchestral arrangement -- You'll know you've found a good one when you hear the haunting of The Old Castle, the frenzy of the Hut on Hen's Legs / Baba Yaga's Hut, and you're bowled over by the Great Gate of Kiev finale. The original Mussorgsky piano work is worth owning as well.
