Extraordinary
This is the superior recording - richer, fuller, truly noble.
Easily the best recording available on eMusic.
This one packs a major punch. A beautifully opulent sound, excellent separation and clarity, clearly skilled players and vocalists, the tempos are right, very nice accentuation, no overdone romantic period flourishes and fermata... here is a rendition that oozes a reverence for the music. This is Mozart's Requiem done *right*. The 1986 Gardiner/EBS version was my favorite for nigh fifteen years before I heard this one. Download it NOW.
